When troubles like a mountain rise,
Storms fill the air, and billows roll;
O let me trust the Lord most wise,
The Son of God Who saved my soul.
Jesus my Lord has died for me,
And ever lives to intercede;
He rules the world eternally,
And vows to meet my every need.
Be still, my soul, nor anxious be,
Christ sits upon His sovereign throne;
He sees my heart, He hears my plea,
He knows my every tear and groan.
Since I am His and He is mine
Why should this ransomed sinner fear?
Each trial has a wise design,
And to my Lord it brings me near!
