As we begin another year,
O Father may it be,
A year of trusting in Thy care,
From sinful worry free,

Keep us from unbelief and fear,
Content with daily bread,
And resting in Thy precious Son,
Who suffered in our stead,

Preserve us by Thy mighty pow'r,
Abide with us we pray;
Direct our pilgrim journey here,

Our lives are in Thy sovereign hand,
How comforting the thought!
Therefore contented may we be,
And trust Thee as we ought,

And if our years continue on,
