HYMN OF GRACE
WORTHY THE LAMB
(Tune: Sweet Hour of Prayer)
Worthy the Lamb, Who from above
Came to this world in grace and love;
A child was born, a Son was giv'n,
The Son of Man, the Lord from heav'n.
He knew no sin, He did no wrong,
In grateful praise we sing this song;
The Lord our Righteousness is He,
Christ Jesus saves eternally.
And when the fateful hour drew nigh
That Christ would suffer, bleed and die;
He bore our sinful guilt and shame,
"Friend of the sinner" what a Name!
Behold the Lamb for sinners slain,
Hung on the cross and bore our pain;
To save His fallen, chosen race,
Praise God for His redeeming grace.
'Tis finished," Christ our Savior cried,
And bowed His holy blessed head and died;
He rose and went back to His throne,
Soon to return for all His own.
Redeemed by blood and saved by grace,
Someday we shall behold His face;
Our song forever shall remain,
"Worthy the Lamb for sinners slain."
