A PRAYER FOR FAITH

O Lord I ask for faith today
To trust in Christ alone;
He to Thy bosom is the Way,
Without Him hope is gone.
Now send Thy grace that with my heart
I will believe Thy Word;
Then from Thy Son I'll not depart,
When grace my soul has stirred.
My true desire is evermore
To trust and never doubt,
This blessed Savior I adore,
Will never cast me out.
I pray dear Father that I might
Learn to believe and rest;
To walk by faith and not by sight,
For this I know is best.
And when my time on earth is spent,
I ask for dying grace;
To close my eyes with confidence,
And then to see Thy face.
