"BE OF GOOD CHEER; IT IS I"
Matthew 14:22-33

Tommy Robbins

In Matthew 14:22-33, we read that the disciples were in a great storm upon the sea so that the ship was tossed with the waves. There is nothing said of them being troubled or afraid of the storm. It was when they saw the Lord, but failed to recognize Him, that they were troubled and fearful. There are many great and valuable lessons to be learned from this story. But there is one that we must certainly not overlook; BE SURE THAT IT IS CHRIST THAT WE ARE SEEING AND LOOKING TO. There is reason to be troubled and fearful if we look to another or if we fail to recognize Him. It was only when He was present with them in the ship that that their fears subsided. They said, "Of a truth, Thou art the Son of God' If he is present and we don't recognize Him it is because of LITTLE FAITH. If he is not present and we believe that He is, it because of NO FAITH.
