We often say, "We preach Christ," or "I preach the gospel of the glory of God." Sometimes we might say, "We declare the doctrines of grace." We use terms, but there are really no distinctions in them. They are one and the same if we understand the nature of true gospel preaching. They are not apart, but are one.
Christ is the gospel, and the gospel is Christ. The doctrine of grace (sometimes we say DOCTRINES of grace) is the seasoning of the true gospel. It gives that sweet savor to the message. The gospel we preach is the message of the Person and the Works of Christ, and that message is leavened with grace.
What is unconditional election, particular redemption, irresistible grace, preservation and perseverance of the saints, but the expression of free grace dispensed and free grace bestowed?
