NO LIFE

NO LIFE

JOE TERRELL

When Ezekiel prophesied to the dry bones, there was a rattling of those bones as flesh and sinew was joined to them. But for all the rattling, THERE WAS NO LIFE! So it is with preaching the gospel; it can produce a religious "rattling" of orthodoxy, morality, and religious profession; but for all the rattling, there is no life. It was only when Ezekiel prophesied (prayed) to the winds to send breath to the bones that they lived. And it is only when, through prayer, the Spirit of God breathes on the gospel and it becomes more than words, that religious people become truly "alive to God." While we preach and testify to men of the grace of God, let us be sure to pray to Him who applies that grace lest there be much rattling and no life!
