"I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE"
Jer. 31:34

Ken Wimer

How full and complete is the forgiveness of God? How effectual is the blood of Christ to blot out our sins? The Lord spoke to Jeremiah = saying, "I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. " Jer. 31:34

This promise is not addressed to those who continue in their rebellion to God. Rather it is written for the sinners chosen of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus and brought by the Spirit to Jesus in repentance and faith. God says to such a one, " YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN.

This truth clearly contradicts the theory of men that somehow a believer will one day have to give an account of his sins at the judgment seat "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. " Romans 8:1

If as a child of God, He were to bring up again my past and review it before me, then His Word would not be true. If as a believer, sin is still held to my account, then Christ's blood avails nothing and I am still lost.

Listen believing friend! Salvation is full and free! When God saves, it is because He has buried our sin, all of it, in the deepest sea and our righteous substitute, Jesus Christ, stands between God and our sin forever. It will never be brought up again. Do you believe this?

If so, why then do you bring up your sin again? Some are living under a cloud of guilt over sin of the past. God says, "I will remember it no more." Some would perhaps bring up their sin again and cherish thoughts toward it. This cannot be. It has been buried in Christ therefore, it must be reckoned to be dead.

There are also those who would seek to condenmmgly point out the sin of other fellow believers in such a way as never to forgive them. If God says, "I will remember it no more", why do you then remember it? As God has forgiven you because of Christ, even so forgive your fellow believer because of Christ.
