Either our salvation is wholly in the works of the Lord Jesus Christ, or there are none saved at all! Even the natural mind perceives that God is just. Does not reason then agree with Scripture, that God, being just, "will by no means clear the guilty?" And does this not set you and me outside the scope of God's favor unless His favor can be gained through the actions of another? And is Jesus Christ not the only "other" whose righteousness is acceptable to God? And is it not written, "Of God, [Christ] is made unto us... righteousness"? Then let the issue be settled in your heart. Look no more within, but look to the Lord Jesus Christ who, all by Himself, is sufficient salvation for any sinner.
