Some Good Things?

Some Good Things?

Paul Mahan

"How often have we listened to a sermon on the radio or television and thought that the man "said some good things". Now I'm all for men saying "go things"; but just because a man says some "good things", it doesn't mean he has preached the gospel "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump" (Gal. 5:9 Someone said, "98% of rat poisoning is good food." you add a little bit of works to grace, it is no more grace (Rom. 11:6). If you add a little bit of man's will to salvation, then salvation is not "of the Lord". In order for a man to preach the gospel, he must preach the truth (Christ), the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help him God. Paul said, "I have not shunned to declare unto you ALL the counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). So not only must a man preach the truth of the gospel, but he must preach the whole truth of the gospel-how that God purposed salvation, Christ purchased salvation, and the Holy Spirit applies salvation. Part of the story is not the whole story, and HALF OF THE TRUTH IS A LIE! Only true gospel preachers can say with the Apostle Paul, "We are not as many, which corrupt the Word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ" (II Cor. 2:17). So I don't want preach "good things"; I want to preach the "GOOD NEWS"
