"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ..."Ephesians 1:3
All of God's people are blessed of God. It makes no difference whether we are rich or poor, healthy or sick, or even if we are ready to die, if we are a child of God, we are blessed of God with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.
[1]. We are blessed according to the purpose of God.
(II TIMOTHY 1:9) "God hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began." All of the blessings of God's grace and glory, for time and eternity, were freely given to all believers by God's eternal electing love. God, in His eternal purpose, gave to us and guaranteed the accomplishment of all these blessings in His people: adoption, justification, acceptance, redemption, forgiveness, regeneration, and all the fullness of eternal glory. Can you see how blessed we are? What more could we desire? All that He has done for us is "To the praise of the glory of His grace."
[2]. We are blessed by the providence of God. To all believers it is promised that "All things work together" for our spiritual and eternal good. Our Heavenly Father has promised us nothing but good. He has promised that nothing will ever take place in our life that is not for our good and His glory. We do experience things which to the flesh seem to be not so good. There are many things which cause us pain and sorrow. But our Great God of Heaven will see to it that even these work for our good. The fact that there is good in these seemingly bad things is not chance or luck, but according to God's wisdom, purpose, and power, all things work together for the good of His elect.
[3]. We shall be blessed in the presence of God when this life is over. The blessings of this life from God on His children are not just for this life. "if in this life only we have hope, we are miserable." In that Great Day we will stand before God perfectly holy and righteous, washed in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and clothed in His righteousness. All the blessings of eternal glory which were promised to us in the eternal covenant of grace, provided for us by the righteousness of Christ, purchased for us by the blood of Christ, and claimed for us by the ascension of Christ to the right hand of God the Father, will be ours. Not one of God's children will lack any part of the Divine Inheritance. In Christ we are blessed.
