THERE REALLY IS ONLY ONE WAY!

THERE REALLY IS ONLY ONE WAY!

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6

The Lord Jesus Christ says in this verse that He is "the Way" whereby sinners "cometh unto the Father". This statement excludes any other way that man might invent. This excludes all works of man's devising. Though "there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Prov. 14:12) This is the sad state of the natural religious man today. The way He is following seems so right and he can even find verses in the Bible to seemingly support his way, "but the end thereof are the ways of death."

The ways of religious man are many but they all boil down to it being a work of the flesh. Some of man's ways may be that of "baptism", the way of "good works", and the way of "progressive sanctification" which may be the most deceitful of all religious man's ways. He might even be clinging to the doctrines of grace but if he is not clinging to "the Way", he is a lost religious hypocrite and "the end thereof are the ways of death."

Christ says that He is "the Way"! Christ is the only way to God the Father. His blood alone suffices to put away sin. His righteousness alone makes His people accepted. You cannot improve upon His righteousness by your so-called "progressive sanctification". You either have His righteousness and His righteousness alone to make you acceptable in the beloved or you stand condemned in your own self-righteousness. If any part of your salvation depends on your work, you are hopelessly lost. His grace alone gives the believer access into the presence of God. He perfectly fulfilled the law of God on behalf of His elect. By imputation the sins of all the elect have been laid upon Him. Christ "was numbered with the transgressors, and He bare the sin of many." He voluntarily undertook to be the substitute and surety of His chosen. And by this Way and this Way only, by the transferring of sin from the sinner to Christ, the sinner ceases to be regarded as a sinner, his guilt is removed, and he is declared justified before the throne of grace.

Let me ask you a question. Are you in "the Way"? In other words are you in Christ? Is He really your "way" or are you going about trying to establish your own way by how you are living. If He really is your "Way" then you will look to Him as your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. (I Cor. 1:30,31) You will have only one thing to glory in >>> the Lord!
