I sadly but boldly assert that the Jesus of modern religion, generally speaking, is "another Jesus" (2 Cor. 11:3). He is continually being depicted as a "little pigmy" who is confronted with "big people" who can thwart any plan or purpose, will or desire He may have. He can only become Saviour by man's merit and be coronated by man's will. That is why modern preachers speak of salvation in terms of Christ's "willingness" and man's "consent"!!! Their Jesus has plans, purposes and desires, but they are all vain without man's consent. But the Jesus of the Scriptures, with His "power over all flesh" (Jn.17:2), makes His people willing when He chooses. (Ps.1 10:3; Gal.l:15,16). He works in His people to will and do what pleases Him.(Phil.1:6; 2:13). The Christ of the Bible is not dependent upon man's free-will cooperation for His success; but rather, men and women are totally dependent upon Him for all thingsALL THINGS! !!
My friends, the Jesus of Scripture is none other and nothing less than the Almighty incarnate, " God manifest in the flesh." He has " all power in heaven and earth" (Matt.28:18), " power over all flesh (Jn.17:2), and " gives eternal life to whom He will" (Jn.5:21).
Do you need spiritual life? Do you need God's salvation? Then you must turn away from modern religion's little "pigmy Jesus" and call upon the name of the LORD (Rom. 10:13). " For the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him." " Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved."
