IF THE TRUMPET GIVE AN UNCERTAIN SOUND

IF THE TRUMPET GIVE AN UNCERTAIN SOUND

I am indebted to my reformed brethren for much; but I have not imbibed Reformed Theology, for I find as a whole it does not present a clarion call to a lost and dying world. We stand for the "exclusiveness" of the gospel. I mean by that that the scriptures declare one way of salvation and only one Saviour. He is who the scriptures declare Him to be, not what you and I would like to make Him to be.

C. H. Spurgeon once said, "I will go as far as Martin Luther, in that strong assertion of his, where he says, 'If any man doth ascribe of salvation, even the very least, to the free will of man, he knoweth nothing of grace, and he hath not learnt Jesus Christ aright.' It may seem a harsh sentiment; but he who in his soul believes that man does of his own free will turn to God, cannot have been taught of God, for that is one of the first principles taught us when God begins with us, that we have neither will nor power, but that he gives both; that he is `Alpha and Omega' in the salvation of men."

It is amazing to me that many can say, "Amen" to the above quotation and them turn around and talk about their Arminian brethren. I don't have any arminian brethren. I can not have fellowship with someone who has bowed their knee to the religion of the Beast. These may sound like harsh words, but I am not using them for effect. ARMINIAN, FREEWILL, WORKS RELIGION is Satanic and is not the gospel with a few misguided beliefs. Please don't misunderstand, I believe heaven will be filled with people who were not Calvinists. However, I do not believe there will be any Arminians there. We have no difficulty in saying that there will be no one in glory who denies the Trinity, though there will be plenty there who didn't fully comprehend it. Why is it so difficult to believe that heaven will be filled with people who didn't fully understand God's grace, but not one who denied it?

During my sojourn with the reformed crowd over the last eighteen years, I have sadly begun to realize that there are an awful lot of folks who have bowed their knee to a theological system or religious movement who have never bowed their knee to Christ. Somehow we have mistakenly believed that an unregenerate man cannot believe the doctrines of grace. Believe me, there will be multitudes in hell that believed in the five points of Calvinism. Religion, even "Reformed" religion, never saved anyone. Salvation, as the scriptures declare it, is not capitulation to a set of beliefs, but absolute surrender to Him who sits upon the throne. He is my Wisdom. He is Righteousness. He is my Sanctification. He is my Salvation. He is my All in All.
