"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers..."

Joe Terrell

Whatever else this may mean, it certainly applies to worshipping with those whose gospel is "another gospel" and whose Jesus is "another Jesus." We just must not do it. We are often invited to be involved in community-wide religious activities. I have several times been approached to continue my involvement in the ministerial association. It is always an awkward situation, for the answer must always be, "no." It sounds as though we hold ourselves above the others, counting ourselves too good to associate with them. But that is not the case at all! We are no better than anyone else. But that is not the issue: the issue is Christ! How can a believer joyfully walk with an unbeliever? I cannot, nor can any believer, willingly join in with those whose gospel disgraces the Savior and glorifies man. God's sovereignty and man's freewill cannot join hands! Christ's righteousness and man's righteousness cannot share the same stage! In truth, if the followers of darkness knew what we believe, they would not wish to have any part with us, and would likely be much more violent and nasty in their denunciation of us. But, it is our present pattern, and always shall be that we shall not join hands in religious endeavors with those who profess another gospel, no matter how noble or beneficial the cause may appear. We will gladly walk with all who, by grace, walk in the light.
