The one and only hope of glory for any sinner is "Christ in you." It is not facts and feelings in you, or doctrine and religion in you, nor is it even faith in you. True, Christ does not abide in the sinner who is without faith, but many have faith who do not have Christ (Matthew 7:13-23; James 2:14-26).
The sinner in whom Christ dwells is a saint, a child of God, and shall inherit eternal glory. He has been born of God (John 1:13). He is a new creature, with a new, divine nature (II Peter 1:4; II Corinthians 5:17). He has the mind of Christ, the heart of Christ, and the disposition and attitude of Christ.
This new, divine nature may often be faint and feeble in its outward manifestations, but upon reflection, it will be found to be alive and sensitive to the sinfulness and inability of the old, fleshly nature (Romans 7:15-25; John 15:5), and to an ever-increasing need of the Lord Jesus Christ and His free grace. Blessed of God are such men and women!
