The natural man can understand Arminianism. The natural man can understand Calvinism. But the natural man cannot understand grace! The message of Arminian, free will, works religion comes natural to the flesh. It is what we are born believing. But through studying the scriptures, a natural man can also come to see Calvinism. He will even change positions, turning from Arminianism to Calvinism. But one thing the natural man cannot understand... Grace! He will charge the Gospel preacher with Hyper-Calvinism because the Gospel preacher insists you cannot preach the Gospel and not preach what we call "the doctrines of grace." He will accuse the Gospel preacher of being Arminian because he calls on all men to come to Christ. He understands "Arminianism." He grasps "Calvinism." But he cannot understand grace. Only the believer understands grace. He knows grace because he knows that person of whom it is said, "The Law was given by Moses, but grace and truth come by Jesus Christ."
