A man wrote to me concerning my newspaper article: "What you say seems to be true, but my church does not say these things. Please pray for my church." My first answer to him was, "No, I will not pray for your church!" Then I asked him a question: Why do you remain where lies are told? All you must do is walk out the door and seek the truth of God (2 Cor. 6: 14-18). Oh, I know you have been there so long and you have responsibility: teaching, singing, playing piano, etc. WHAT! Would you trade your eternal soul for that place of recognition? Surely Judas did no worse for 30 pieces of silver.
My dear man, if you do not forsake all idols (free-will religion included), then you surely must suffer the eternal consequences. Babylon in scripture is pictured as false religion. God does not say, "Pray for her," but rather "Come out of her" (Rev. 18: 1-4). The reason to come out? "that ye receive not of her plagues."
If you are in a church Where man's will is given preeminence, then you are in the church of Babylon which is called in Rev. 19:2 "the great whore." You must find the place where God is the Almighty Sovereign, to whom be honor and power everlasting (1 Tim. 6:14-16); where Christ Jesus is the effectual Savior who never fails and who has power over all flesh (John 17:1-3); and where God the Spirit gives regenerating Life in Christ to all of God's elect people. (John 6:63; 2 Thess. 2:13).
"Well, I just can't leave my church." You better leave it. 30 pieces of silver won't last long!
