"BUT WE SEE JESUS"

"BUT WE SEE JESUS"
Hebrews 2:9

Ken Wimer

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he the grace of God should tasted death for every man." Hebrews 2:9. Who are these who see Jesus? Who is this Jesus here seen? How is He seen? Consider these how God's Word answers these.

1. WHO ARE THOSE WHO SEE JESUS? They cannot be; natural men with natural eyes, for the Scriptures say that "the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.." 1 Corinthians 2:14. Since they are spiritually discerned, then the "we" must refer only to those whose hearts and minds God has made alive by His Spirit, John 3:3,8: Without this sovereign work of the Spirit, a person may feel the darkness and weight of his guilt and sin, but will never see in the Lord Jesus, how God is both Just and Justifier. Many today are in the business of trying to save themselves, and blindly following false preachers who lead them down the works path, because they have never seen Jesus, "the author and finisher" of saving faith. When the Holy Spirit leads the soul to see how the Lord Jesus Christ satisfied the righteous requirements of God the Father for His people, and by faith, embrace Him as their only hope, then, and only then can it be said, "we see Jesus."

2. WHO IS THE JESUS HERE SEEN? He is the promised Messiah, the Ancient of Days, the Bright and Morning Star, the Branch which should come out of Jesse's rod, the Sun of Righteousness that should arise with healing in his wings, the Seed of the Woman who should bruise the serpent's head, the Immortal Word that was made flesh and dwelt among us, the Child born, the Son given, the King of kings and Lord of lords. He's not `Jesus' in the familiar jargon of religion today, but, Christ Jesus the LORD. To see Jesus is to see Him high and exalted as Redeemer, Savior, and the very Righteousness of His people. He is Immanuel, God with us! He is the anointed one of the Father; the Son of Man He has made strong for Himself; mighty to save and who does save everyone whom His Father gave Him in the eternal covenant of grace, before time began – John 6:37; 2 Timothy 1:9

3. HOW IS HE SEEN? Not with the naked eye, nor with pictures and symbols. It is with the eye of faith. "Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory." 1 Peter 1:8. `Lord, give me eyes of faith to behold Him in ALL of His glory!"
