Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. Ephesians 3:8
I believe the Lord God of Heaven has given these words to every man called of God to preach this Gospel as his own personal testimony. This preaching is not some
thing that anyone would ever take on himself. God's man declares himself to be "The least of all saints." When I come before you, I stand here only as God's messenger, to deliver to you what the Lord God of Heaven has given me. It is not just a sermon; it is a message from God. This pulpit is not my soap box. The greatest privilege permitted to man is to stand before this world and preach this Gospel of God's saving Grace in Christ Jesus.
This is not a labor. This is not slavery. This is a great pleasure, because this is a message of Grace and Mercy that I have to deliver to you. This is GOOD NEWS. This is the message of Salvation. This is a Grace that is given to me, "that I should preach among the Gentiles." I come before you to preach, "the unsearchable riches of Christ." In Ephesians 3:19, Paul says, "it passes knowledge."
Paul called this a "Grace that was given." In the preceding verse Paul said, "I was made." God will call those whom He pleases and give them a heart filled with a love for Christ, make them jealous for the Gospel, and give to them the ability and desire to stand and proclaim the Gospel.
In spite of all Paul's problems, he never had a doubt about the theme of his message. He never asked himself, What will I preach? It makes no difference if you are preaching in jails, old folk's homes, prisons, or churches. It makes no difference in what country, to which culture, or to which level of society you preach; the message is always the same.
Paul declared (1 Corinthians 2:2): For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
John declared (John 1:29): Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
